VW "recall" scandal affected car emissions in January 2016
Berlin (ANTARA News) - Chief Executive of Volkswagen Matthias Mueller said his firm would pull (recall) all the cars affected homemade scandal diesel emissions starting in January next year and will be completely repaired until the end of that year.
"If everything goes according to plan, we could start a recall in January," said Mueller told the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) as quoted by Reuters. "All the vehicles affected had to be repaired until the end of 2016."
Mueller also told the newspaper that he believes only a handful of employees involved in the scandal diesel emissions are already pressing deeply the company's stock price and reputation so great harm.
But Mueller denies his predecessor, Martin Winterkorn, knowing that fraudulent practices.
He said after this VW will become leaner and more decentralized.
He also ensures that each model and brand to be studied more carefully for their contribution to the company.
But she said more needed evolution rather than revolution in restoring VW on track again.
Mueller also rejected the view VW too late to tell the financial markets regarding diesel issue is despite the fact the company was already told about it to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a few weeks before presenting it to the public, according to AFP.
